Description:

One of the most remarkable things about South Korea's food culture is the existence of many specialty food alleys. When a restaurant becomes popular for a particular dish, other restaurants open in the surrounding area serving the same dish. Featured here is an alley specializing in spicy stir-fried baby octopus (jjukkumi bokkeum). Baby octopuses that has been marinated in spicy chilli paste will be brought to customers' tables to be cooked. This dish is apparently very spicy, so only those who dare should try :)

Some restaurants in this alley have the option of serving the dish with samgyeopsal (pork's belly meat), but the restaurant shown below (Mokpojib Na Jeong-sun Halmae Jjukkumi / 나정순할매쭈꾸미) only serves jjukkumi bokkeum. So for Muslim travellers, do go to this one! (source 1, source 2)
